Please follow the following guidelines when writing a bot.
Throttle the requests to one a minute
We do not have a lot of resources for this website and there are many edits happening constantly. Please restrict your bots to once a minute.
Yes, this is very slow. Contact us on the mailing list and we'll try to work with you to see if we can increase the threshold for you.
If you cause the site to become overwhelmed, we reserve the right to block your bot.
Make it easy for us to contact you
Please use a unique User-Agent that identifies your bot and provides a way of contacting you. An email, user name, or url would do for this.
When we begin to have problems with bots we need to be able to quickly identify their owner. The easiest way is the User-Agent string.
