Why Apiary?
An Apiary is a bee yard. The MediaWiki logo is a stylized sunflower. We imagine WikiApiary as a a collection of bees (bots) flying off to thousands of flowers (MediaWiki instances) and bringing back information. Also, the word Apiary has the word API inside of it, which we use to power this site.
